Debut comes from Inner Trip, the ambient / post-rock project from Iran

Inner Trip’s cinematic sound travels between various music genres. His debut album Somewhere Near The Pulse is available on Fluttery Records

Saman, Inner Trip

Fluttery Records is the home of many creative artists from all over the world. The label is now releasing the debut album of Inner Trip from Iran. ‘Inner Trip’ is the musical solo project of Saman N (born 1984, graphic artist and musician), on which he started to work since the spring 2011.

He has just released his debut album “Somewhere Near The Pulse“. The album can be streamed free from this link.

The project’s musical genre was based on cinematic soundtracks in which there were multiple influences from other genres like ‘Modern classical‘, ‘Ambient‘, ‘Electronic‘, ‘Trip Hop‘. However, Saman N’s unique style of musicality also made ‘Inner Trip’ an “Experimental” project in the sense of musical genre. Beside of transferring his sole feelings to the audience, Saman N has quoted attempts to produce a music which could create strong visualizations for them.

‘Inner Trip’ started with the production of ‘Somewhere Near The Pulse‘ album which was composed, recorded and produced from winter 2010 to summer 2011, an album with seven tracks and 46:49 length.

It is an album with seven pieces based-on cinematic and emotional atmosphere with lots of strange musical elements which are gathered to depict a dreamy dramatic story. He says “It’s like a prophecy because there is no flat line to follow, no definite structure but that’s all about a way to represent an inner world while strings, drums, woodwinds and electronic sounds combine to make a wide scene in the front of listener.”

As Saman N. quoted that during the production of “Somewhere Near The Pulse”, he always tried to free himself by listening solely to the inspirations inside him and allowed these elements to shape his music as it should be. Therefore, he has called this album as an interesting risk in his artistic profile. Close your eyes , turn up the volume a bit and let the dreams began, have a good trip! Recommended if you like artists like Brian Eno, Saltillo, Clint Mansell, Subheim, Field Rotation, Mike Oldfield, Tangerine Dream, Biosphere.

The album is available on Fluttery Records, a “New home of Post-rockAmbientExperimentalElectronicModern Classical music”. The album is also available on major download stores like iTunes, Bandcamp, AmazonMP3. All the releases by the label can be streamed free on the site.

Italian ambient / electro-acousitic project, Music For No Movies releases the debut album

Ambient Electro acoustic project Music For No Movies

Federico Fantuz is an Italian modern music composer, who has just released his debut album on Fluttery Records. Music For No Movies is Fantuz’s electro-acoustic / ambient tunes where he creates a warm cinematic atmosphere by his guitar strings and ambient pads.

Violent Zen is his 11 piece debut. As a music journalist points out “Not only does Music For No Movies turn the very idea of sountrack inside-out – it also succeeds in creating experimental yet intriguing and deeply fascinating soundscapes. Very well done indeed.”

Fluttery Records defines the album like this: “Music For No Movies is a reverse project composed of “orphan” tracks and conceived as soundtracks in search of their cinematic motherhood. The different tracks aim at ecstatic, evocative and dilated atmospheres. More precisely they are cozy and rarefied melodies, distant and unsettling sounds, odd times and grotesque echoes. The core of all the arrangements is the search of an intensity and a sense of suspension that resembles somehow the suspended feeling one has watching a movie.”

The album is recommended if you like Brian Eno, Ralph Towner, Dead Can Dance, Steve Tibbetts, Arvo Pärt , Ennio Morricone, Ry Cooder, Sigur Rós, Yann Tiersen, Labradford, Mark Templeton, North Sea, Xela.

Debut Album of Music For No Movies

The album has already received very good reviews. Here are some of them:

ROLLING STONE:
“Waterquake” is an exhilarating and haunting track suitable for a great dramatic picture whereas the opener “Air Games” operates in the area of a crepuscular and gently melancholy. Other outstanding songs are the irresistible “Earth Job”, adorned with unconventional sounds like chair creaks and coins falls, perfect for a mystery picture, “Wind Wash”, particularly fitting for a positive final sequence in a sad drama that ends full of hope, and “Fire and Sky”, that only asks to be used in an historical movie, maybe in the Spain of the eighteenth century. The intriguing and obsessive “Arvo Moon” is instead suitable for a sequence in which is described the passage of time: in general the instruments’ assemblage is excellent and the arrangement very smooth in order to create a music in which you can pleasantly lose yourself.”

MUSIC REVIEWS:
“The summer is on its way, and with it comes some of the worst movies of the year. Therefore, if you enjoy high quality movies, the summer may not be the best time for you to venture out to the theater. However, with Violent Zen, you can make up your own movies, right there in your mind. The acting will be superb, while the ending will be satisfying because it’s your film. Just imagine the possibilities.”

The album is available on major music download stores like Itunes, Bandcamp, AmazonMP3. The album can be steamed and purchased on the Fluttery Records website.

A Journey Down The Well releases a new EP called “How Little Can Be The Orchestra”

A Journey Down The Well, the band known for creating extraordinary classical music pieces, has released a new EP; “How Little Can Be The Orchestra”

modern classical ambient project

A Journey Down The Well has just released a new four song EP revealing their impulsive, unusual, minimalist approach to classical music . This is their first entirely instrumental release, as well as the first release of A Journey Down The Well as a duo. The EP is released by post-rockambientmodern classical based label, Fluttery Records. It can also be streamed free and purchased on the label website. http://flutteryrecords.com/flttry025.html

A Journey Down The Well was founded in 2006 by musicians from Turkey (Taner) and Sweden (Anna and Martin). In 2010, after releasing two albums (The Funeral Album – 2007 and Sorry Monsters, I Have To Grow – 2009) the Swedish wing left the band citing the difficulty in traveling between the two countries. Taner Torun (the only founding member remaining in the band as well as the owner of Fluttery Records) has moved the project to his hometown and partnered with Ipek Zeynep Kadioglu (cellist, Mimar Sinan Conservatory & Manchester University School of Music and Drama graduate).

The new compositions contains rich string pieces (“How”), beautiful piano-violin-cello arrangements (“Little”), ambient structures created through delay manipulations (“Can Be”) and processed cellos made to sound like a ship’s foghorn (end of “The Orchestra”).

Taner Torun says “The EP is called How Little Can Be The Orchestra and we have reasons for this. First of all, we recorded it just two people and it explains about minimalist nature of our music. Also, there is still sadness but also a gleam of hope. All four songs are about how little things have importance and make people happy with their existence like birds, kittens, children and toy instruments.”

How Little Can Be Orchestra also contains various field recordings alongside the music. Cars pass by on the street and a little girl yells at them from the window (02), fans celebrate their victory (03), newborn kittens sing along with other animals and it becomes a choir (04). Torun says “They are not spices to make the compositions colorful. They are the core elements of the compositions just like piano, violin and cello.”

The Widest Smiling faces releases a new EP called “Rituals”

The Widest Smiling Faces is the musical brainchild of Brooklyn based songwriter Aviv Cohn, combining shoegaze, folk, and ambient post-rock in “Rituals”

The Widest Smiling Faces is the project of Brooklyn-based songwriter Aviv Cohn, combining indie, post-rock and shoegaze with significant folk influences. His new EP, “Rituals” is now available on Fluttery Records.

The Widest Smiling Faces self titled debut has garnered positive reviews from music critics around the world, establishing his music as a unique voice. The PostRock Community describes it as “absolutely amazinginsanely beautiful fantastic Lo-Fi record.” Fresh Heirs says “One of the greatest strengths of Cohn’s writing in the Widest Smiling Faces is that his vocals do not always have to carry the melody. He lets the guitar speak on its bed of reverb when necessaryI was immediately enthralled.” The Sirens Sound calls the album “An incredibly good, soft, mellow, entertaining…type of sound that drift(s) from sentimental yearning to swirling motion.”

After attracting the attention of Fluttery Records, his next release, the “Rituals” EP was born.

Rituals sees a shift in Aviv’s music, from acoustic to electric sounds. Warm, colorful tones producing strong sensations and evoking faded images and memories. Aviv says “The recording is a little bit different perhaps, somewhat clearer? It’s really not about the melodies, it’s about the images…”

Marionette ID release their new album “Alluvion” on Fluttery Records

Budapest’s extraordinary band, Marionette ID release a new album. Alluvion is released by Fluttery Records

Marionette ID - Post Rock

Fluttery Records starts autumn with new Marionette ID album “Alluvion”. Marionette ID is a Hungarian experimental / post-rock band founded in 2008. After expanding to a greater audience, they played several European tours in 2010 and 2011. The bands appearance on many blogs, music websites made the label curious about the band and they have signed a recording agreement with Fluttery Records. The label started re-issuing their debut self-relase album “Emptiness Will Change Your Mind” in September 2010. The band and album received many good reviews. On a review on Sound As Language, the band received this comment “Subtle melodies are countered by moody instrumental passages and soothing vocals. Marionette ID possess an emotional weight and depth that truly set the band apart. This is post-hardcore at its most melodic and structured. Marionette ID are practicing a precision few bands dare to. If you are willing to give Emptiness Will Change Your Mind some time to grow, you will be richly rewarded.” C.W.Ross said “It hard to pin down the style of music played by the band because it changes depending on what song or even what part of a song you’re listening to at that particular time. You’ll hear everything from Indie and modern rock to post rock, progressive and even jam band elements in the eight songs that make up ‘Emptiness Will Change Your Mind’ and he gave 8.25/10 to the album. Blues Bunny made the comment “An interesting album, therefore, that would have appeal for those who like melody in their rock music or for those who seek to go further than indie rock snack food.”

It was 2011 when Marionette ID started recording their new album. Alluvion was recorded in Budapest from January till June, 2011. In their seven track new album, Marionette ID still try to flirt with interesting structures, heavy sounds using elements of post metal. Noise master Gate release a new album: Deconstructed

Noise meets jazz one more time in Gate’s lastest release Deconstructed

Noise album DeconstructedGate is a noise project based in Tokyo, Japan and they have release their lastest album on Fluttery Records. The new album is called Deconstructed.

The music contains noise, free jazzdroneambientindustrial elements. Lets have look at a new review about the album. Jan Williem Broek (music writer / DJ) has written a review about the band and their lastest album:

Lajos creates improvisations with 7-string bass, guitar, sousen, electric morin khuur, zarazara, and various other effects and noise makers. Half a year after the project was founded, the Japanese wind instrument player Taka joined the project, and with his saxophones, flutes, ryuuteki (dragon flute), recorders, whistles, and didgeridoo, he adds an extra dimension to the project’s sound. Lajos’s philosophical background undoubtedly contributed to the way of making music, although one shouldn’t take the term ‘music’ too literally. He refers to Spinoza who said that freedom is illusion. Nevertheless, they create a free sound, albeit as free as the listener experiences it. What I mean is that the one will hear unstructured cacophony, while the other recognizes patterns and structure. To that extent freedom stays an illusion. Let me take the freedom to say that they manage to create immense tension between recognizable and undefinable sound. They open a ‘gate’ to your own interpretation. CDs ‘no exit’ (2009) and ‘iterations’ 2010 so fascinating. The sounds almost became secondary to their elaboration. The result is a kaleidoscopic whole of drones, noisejazzindustrial, doom, and Japanese traditional music, in which the sounds freely ‘wander’ through indescribable, capricious soundscapes. |˟˟| now released the CD ‘deconstructed’, which lets go of the founding principles. Philosophy also means time for reflection and seeing things in a different light. With this, Lajos moves into the territory of Aube, Merzbow, KK Null, Otomo Yoshihide, God and John Zorn. It is like looking at a 3D image and suddenly seeing depth. Between the gates of the different dimensions, the music of |˟˟⌡ moves in a wayward and most of all captivating way. Incomprehensibly good!”

The album is highly recommended for listeners of noisedroneambientindustrial music also for the people looking for new tastes in jazz.

Indie / Electro-pop band KRAPP release their debut, A Void On A Cradle

KRAPP’s debut “A Void On A Cradle” is a twelve pieces collection swings between surrealistic tales and non-sense joke, electronica and experimentalism.

indie band krappKrapp is an interesting band from France. Imagine your kitchen plenty of ingredients, but all recipes you’ve tried are boring and you want to taste something new. Krapp’s songs are results of this culinary-chemical experimentation. You can hear bits and pieces reminding jazz, rock, electro, pop, classical music. But the idea was not to fit in a category, but to explore, to experiment with sounds and create an original musical universe.

Krapp enjoys using non binary rhythms and dissonant melodies. Drums are replaced by the chirping of crickets, or the crack of opening a can of coke. There is no limit in this sense in the music of Krapp. Lyrics can remind surrealist modern tales or non-sense jokes. All is fine as long as the word suits the music and evokes different meanings and feelings.

Kevin Brosse (alias Mr K. ,bassist, lyricist and singer in many bands as ENGINe, Krabben in Lake, Out of Focus…) and Olga Svobodova (singer and saxophonist in Zel Wel, Strvfkjrb Beitobovitsch and Olgoj Korkoj) work on Krapp since 2008, sometimes helped by Naxoprods’ musicians such as Cédric Bouvet (sax from heraclite), Elodie Nicolas (multi-instrumentalist and fine artist), Florent Garnaud (guitar from Flying Penguins and wateringcan) who performed on the album.

Italian post-rock band En Plein Air release a self-titled album

En Plein Air’s brand new self-titled 2011 album has been released by Fluttery Records. Post-rock band harmonizes violin, cello and piano with instrumental rock

italian post-rock band En Plein Air

Critically acclaimed Italian post-rockers, En Plein Air release their self-titled full-length on Fluttery Records. The CD and the digital downloads are available. Also, listeners can stream all the songs free on the label website.

En Plein Air is a post-rock band from Rome / Italy which differ from their peers by using violin, cello and piano in their unique way with guitars, base and drum. The band has already moved its instrumental voice out of their country with the help of their label, Fluttery Records which is distributed from United States to the rest of the world.

They have been signed to the label in Summer of 2008 and released their 4 song EP “L’alba Irradia L’inutile Parola” in February 2009. The EP got great reviews; The Silent Ballet said “En Plein Air seems to be commenting on this movement through their music: the strings represent the natural light, the drums and guitars are neutral, and the synthesizer, like the tube paint, represents the modern catalyst.” In Forty pointed on the strings “Sad elegance of an ever-pervasive violin. The EP is at its dreamy best when these disparate elements are given freedom to roam, moving the music away from more routine post-rock territory.” According to Beautiful Freaks “The result reminds various influences which the band doesn’t hide: Mogwai, Pink Floyd, Sigur Ros, Goodspeed You! Black Emperor not to mention a certain jazz and classic approach which gives elegants to the tunes. A suggestive cd which joins indie rock and ambience music, classicity and experimentation.” In another review, their music said to be “Smells like the wood of the ancient instruments projected into the future.”

After receiving great reviews around the world, En Plein Air started writing new songs for their debut album. They had experienced something awful while recording it; they left their instruments in the studio after the rehearsal, they discovered they were all stolen when they arrived the studio the next day. They haven’t lost the will and went on recording the self titled debut in the Play Wave studio in Rome. Soon after the recording sessions, the album has been sent to Metropolis Studio in London, UK.

They have released their debut full-length on March 20th, 2011 on Fluttery Records. The label owner Taner Torun says “En Plein Air have moved forward to another step with this album; all seven tracks are welcoming the new rising sun. Self titled album starts with calming piano entry and the song is followed with distorted guitars and violin climbing to the edge. Various instrumentation, various feelings follows. Guitars to strings, electronics to drums, each member collaborates to the beauty at their best.”
