“It is always a treat to hear new music from Wilson Trouvé aka Monochromie. His music is simply magical. I say “simply” from the point of view of someone utterly bedazzled by his approach to composition & “magical” from a place of awe as I try to comprehend the expression he weaves with strings & piano, electronics & synths.”
These are the words by Thomas Mathie (Weareallghosts, Echoes and Dust, Headphonaught) for the latest Monochromie album. We are very excited to announce the new album by this talented artist.
Beyond Frontiers differs from his previous record on Fluttery Records (Stained Glass). The album is greatly influenced by modern classical music.
Through the borders of ambient, noise and post-rock, these surfaces and textures slowly evolve towards an elsewhere, producing the resonance of a particular atmosphere: a dark or luminous landscape, aerial or earthly, a hot or cold light. Each song’s color is unique and draw bridges between classical and contemporary, minimalism and baroque, using a piano, a metallophone, and some other acoustic instruments mixed with crystalline sounds, sparkling, squeaky or saturated.
This is a breathtaking ambient & modern classical release you should definitely hear.
