Acclaimed Norwegian modern classical composer, producer, and pianist Runar Blesvik is set to release his sixth album, “All the Difference”. This six-track album takes listeners on a contemplative journey, exploring the nuances of choice and reflection while blending classical traditions with contemporary influences in Blesvik’s signature style.

Recorded at Urban Sound Studios in Oslo, “All the Difference” features Blesvik’s masterful piano work at its core, accompanied by exceptional musicians on strings, clarinet, and percussion including Arcobaleno String Quartet and Jussan Cluxnei. The addition of ambient synths and soundscapes creates a seamless fusion of acoustic and electronic elements, resulting in a sound that is both grounded and expansive.

Inspired by Robert Frost’s poem “The Road Not Taken,” the album showcases Blesvik’s signature style, combining gentle piano melodies with soft, atmospheric layers and vigorous percussion to evoke deep emotions. From the emotive opening track “Finding” to the playful “Off The Cut” and the ambient closing piece “Through Glass,” each composition serves as a sonic exploration of life’s pivotal moments.

Blesvik’s involvement extends beyond composition and performance; he personally mixed and mastered the album in his Oslo home studio. “Performing every creative step myself gives me full control over my process and concepts,” Blesvik explains. “It also leaves me no place to hide, which has been an illuminating and helpful way to work over the years.”

While the album’s foundation is classical, subtle jazz influences emerge, adding depth and complexity. Each track reflects Blesvik’s dedication to pushing the boundaries of classical music in his own way while honoring its rich traditions. The result is a sound that is both grounded and expansive, oscillating among solo piano, intimate chamber music and dynamic and cinematic landscapes.

The visual elements of All the Difference further enrich the listener’s experience. The album’s cover art, created by French illustrator Aude Brisson, complements the music with evocative imagery that mirrors themes of reflection and transformation.

With its captivating interplay of precision and passion, All the Difference transcends boundaries, creating a listening experience that is as deeply introspective as it is universally inspiring.
