Runar Blesvik creatively merges classical music with jazz influences, showcasing a variety of soundscapes from solo piano to cinematic landscapes
Acclaimed Norwegian modern classical composer, producer, and pianist Runar Blesvik unveils his sixth album, All the Difference. This six-track collection invites listeners into a reflective journey, delving into themes of choice and introspection while blending classical foundations with contemporary influences, all delivered in Blesvik’s distinctive style.
Recorded at Urban Sound Studios in Oslo, All the Difference is anchored by Blesvik’s virtuoso piano performances, supported by a talented ensemble of musicians, including the Arcobaleno String Quartet, clarinetist Jussan Cluxnei, and percussionists. The album also incorporates ambient synths and soundscapes, creating a harmonious blend of acoustic and electronic elements that expand the emotional and sonic reach of the work.
While rooted in classical music, subtle jazz nuances weave throughout, adding layers of depth and complexity. Each piece showcases Blesvik’s commitment to pushing the boundaries of classical music, all while respecting its rich traditions. The result is a sound that balances the intimacy of solo piano and chamber music with the cinematic sweep of expansive, dynamic landscapes.
