Collaborative resonance: Hello Love

Draff Krimmy & Continental Fruit's third album, "Hello Love," stands as a testament to the power of collaboration, bringing together an impressive ensemble of 32 musicians from diverse musical backgrounds.

This playful and experimentalist journey explores a wide spectrum of genres, with contributors hailing from punk, post-hardcore, post-rock ambient, indie, folk, choral, electronica, and metal bands. The album boasts an international lineup, featuring musicians from bands such as Apokrypha, FALL, Gargle, Kidedo, Plotz, Stereopsis, and Yawning.

The album unfolds as a rich tapestry of soundscapes, with Canadian singer Marie Jorge, of Void’s Anatomy, gracing the opening and closing tracks with her angelic voice. Notable contributions include Arvid Ringborg, the vocalist of the Swedish post-hardcore band “Vi som älskade varandra sÃ¥ mycket,” who brings authenticity to the song “Tystnad,” expressing both pain and hope for reconciliation. Elmar Dittrich, guitarist for the German post-hardcore band Plotz, collaborates on three tracks, adding his unique touch. Jun Minowa’s emotional guitars shine on “Skandinavegation,” complementing the longing mood of the children’s choir and the Norwegian ensemble Korleone.

As with previous albums, “Hello Love” features a new version of the song “Min Engel,” this time in an Oriental Fruit rendition. The tracks “Traumfrau” and “Life As A Solo Wanderer” offer excitement, while acoustic gems like the playful “WG Harmonie” and the tranquil “Endlos,” featuring Maciek’s soothing vocals, anchor the album in the present moment. Overall, “Hello Love” is not just an album; it’s an ode to love in all its forms – for fellow humans, for loved ones, for family, nature, diversity, belonging, home, life, and, of course, music. This musical journey is a celebration of love in its myriad expressions, making “Hello Love” a truly heartwarming experience.
