Having evolved from a solo project to a five-member outfit, Ghost Island’s breadth of ambient soundscapes ranges from intimately fragile moments to powerfully moving outbursts.
Phoenix-based founding member John Romero started releasing music for Ghost Island in 2013. Soon, the group began growing members to perform more robust live performances. In that process, collaborative songwriting captured an amalgamation of emotion, using creeping reverberated guitars, throbbing bass, dark drum washes, and occasional keyboards.
Ghost Island seeks to relive your most ecstatic bliss just before confronting your most impenetrable fears. The band’s music makes you feel far from home while offering a comforting solace that comes from within.
