Vinc2: Ambient music from French Alps

vinc2-chambotte

Vinc2 (“vincz”) is a mainly-instrumental project by a self-educated musician, composer and sound engineer Vincent Coudert who was born in 1988 within the Paris region. He started to compose his own music as early as at the age of 16. Now, living in The French Alps, he has created music that aims to take you among the mountains of his soul. In this beautiful musical landscape, you will encounter delicate piano, discreet beats, dreamy cello, aerial clarinet, ethereal sound and a calm, reassuring vocal tone. On the other hand, to your excitement, you can also experience a fly-through a thunder of electric guitars and electronic experimentations.

Vinc2’s album “By The Third Sea” was, according to the composer itself, born in special conditions. Even though all the musical pieces were already made between 2007 and 2008. What caused such a significant delay of the release of the album then?

“More than ever, I put my whole soul into it. Certain events forced me to consider this album as if it was the last. I re-worked it again and again and as I gradually acquired real professional equipment for my home studio, I was able to shape my ideas. This, however, did not happened immediately, I needed to learn what all my new “playthings” can do first.”

Regarding the name of the album, the composer leaves us wondering what the actual third sea might be. He wants to keep our minds unbiased by his own images. However, there is an album cover for those who want at least a tiny peek into the composer’s imagination and at the universe he attempted to recreate.

“By The Third Sea” was originally to be minimalist but gradually, the instrument tracks have gradually accumulated. In the end, the album has a very dense production and looks like a sea of sounds, it feels like a slow boat rocked by the waves in the middle of a starry ocean, sometimes calm, sometimes unbridled. The near absence of rhythm was intended to strengthen the feeling of floating.

This album is a piece of life. We hope those of you who immerge into it will feel very good. If you are ready to get lost in a sea of feelings, you can weigh anchor and let the boat of your thoughts leave the firm ground.

Monocromie release Behind Black Clouds

monochromie-cover

Monochromie is a musical project of Wilson Trouvé. His music is emerging from many melting spots on borders of ambient, noise and post-rock; thus every song created is a pure original with the resonance of a particular atmosphere. Dark or luminous, hot or cold, wind or earth – attentive ear will detect them all. Monochromie’s music plays with our deep emotions and produces colors in the palette already rich and contrasted of Fluttery Records artists.

In 2012, he released his debut “Angels And Demons” on Fluttery Records and received the most flattering reviews. A year later, his second release “Enlighten Yourself While You Sleep” clearly contrasted with his previous piece, what only proved artists skillfulness and versatility.Between the first album releases and his latests piece, which we are going to present to you shortly, Wilson was not neglecting his career and self-released two EP, “Winter” in 2014 and “Brussel-Zuid” in 2015.

Today, he is coming with his brand new album “Behind Black Clouds”. Listen

Who could introduce his art better than the composer himself?

“After a full year of composition, I am excited to finally present my fourth album: Behind Black Clouds. Like in the past, the process was erratic. Some tracks I could start and complete within a single day. Other took me week, even months, to come maturity. I try to keep the ear on the ground of my emotions, my mood and feelings. The time
has to be right.”

Album’s core instrument is a piano. Even though most of his album was composed in his studio in Marseille, the piano types varies according to a place Wilson was in. Piano recordings together with samples taken from the street and with melodies, basic music editing effects and other instruments like metallophone or melodica created wonderful music carrying the right expression achieved through balance in artist’s creative process.

Wilson further says:”Of course, the visual artist that I am influences the way I perceive and use sound. I literally view it as a palpable texture, one that can be sculpted, modeled, blended and bended in various forms. This also reflects on the way my music tells specific stories. It is no different than clay, dust, paper, colors, paint or inks. Eventually, I want the music that I create to become a collection of paintings, series of shots and screens made of all the many layers that I patiently add along months of creation. Until the balance becomes right. I feel they become landscapes, clouds, shades and lights.”

Monochromie Release The Debut Album : Angels and Demons

Monochromie’s debut album, Angels and Demons blends ambient, modern classical, post-rock and it is a constant round trip between a soothing breath and a sleepless noisy storm.

Monochromie is the musical project of Wilson Trouvé. Through the borders of ambient, noise and post-rock, these surfaces and textures slowly evolve towards an elsewhere, producing the resonance of a particular atmosphere: a dark or luminous landscape, aerial or earthly, a hot or cold light. Each song’s color is unique and draw bridges between classical and contemporary minimalism and baroque, using a piano, a metallophone, and some other acoustic instruments mixed with crystalline sounds, sparkling , squeaky or saturated.

Sigur Ros, Pan American, Explosion in the Sky, Mogwai, Godspeed You Black Emperor, Thee Silver Mt Zion, Brian Eno, Ryuichi Sakamoto and Alva Noto or Frederic Chopin, Erik Satie and the sonatas or impromptus of Franz Schubert are among the many influences of the artist.

“Angels and Demons” is Monochromie’s debut album. Built from piano melodies, tinged with synthetic textures and industrial sounds, his music shines and darkens into one single movement. Along with 13 songs on the album, we travel between heaven and earth, light and gravity, among angels and demons which inhabit our worlds and Monochromie’s music.

In a constant round trip between a soothing breath and a noisy storm, Monochromie’s music plays with our deep emotions and produces the new colors in the palette already rich and contrasted of Fluttery Records artists.

The label founder Taner Torun says “Sometimes I work a lot and being sleepless is one of motivations in the life. I like making sleepless hours more disturbing with listening music which travels between peace and destruction. I mean the glitchy, little noisy patterns with joyful ambient which may have melodic structures. The Belong debut October Language was my favourite album for those moments. Since the day Wilson handed debut Monochromie, Angels and Demons, it became the new golden treasure of sleeplessness. That’s why I love the third track of the album, Erosion. It’s a sleepless song.”

Wilson Trouvé, the man behind Monochromie is also a talented modern artist who have made solo and group exhibitions and his works are featured in many art fairs and festivals. His biography can be found here. Trouvé lives in Marseille, France.
