Threads

Runar Blesvik is a composer, producer and pianist based in Oslo, Norway. He has composed for several short films and projects, thereof mainly orchestral music. Lately, he has widened his field to include intimate modern classical piano music mixed with electronic tones.

Cinematic and evocative music is Runar Blesvik’s forte. At an early age, he felt at home in front of the piano, and has since found his voice in composing. Inspired by the stunning nature of Western Norway where he grew up, his music echoes beautiful and dramatic landscapes, as well as different states of mind. Spectral piano chords and wistful melodies contrasted with rigorous electronic soundscapes will guide you through a deeply affecting and diverse experience. Runar produces, records and mixes all the music he releases.

In his EP “Threads”, Runar Blesvik has gone back to basics. The songs on this release were recorded in one day with just a prepared acoustic piano, some strings and a couple of ideas. The result is an intimate and calming journey through delicate chords and jazzy melodies. A heightened focus on achieving a natural sound gives you an honest and truly detailed representation of the music.

From the jazz and folk inspired opening track “Woods”, to the transparent and peaceful last track “The End”, this EP is defined by a deep sense of space and focus. Immerse yourself in a mixture of minuscule details and various musical ideas.

Lessons From The Dreamtime

Seven Stars & Orion

Lessons From The Dreamtime is founded by Jesse Travis Maddox from Denver, Colorado. The artist combines ambient & modern classical music in a majestic way.

Seven Stars & Orion was inspired by the seven major stars in the Pleiades and their ties to history, religion and mythology. It was after reading the Sumerian story, The Epic of Gilgamesh (written in 2000 BC), that this album concept solidified for Jesse Maddox, the one-man mind behind Lessons From The Dreamtime.

From the opening notes in the first track Alcyone you get pulled into a beautifully arranged neo-classical world of ambience and minimalism. This could easily be the soundtrack from the ancient tablet containing The Epic when it says, “He went on a distant journey, pushing himself to exhaustion, but then he was brought to peace.” The track Alcyone easily describes the musical description of peace that surrounded the hero from that ancient story.

A few songs later the landscape changes into a minimal ambient track titled Maia with a bass groove that drives the energy forward while remaining classically psychedelic. This song is definitely best heard while reading the section of Gilgamesh titled DREAMS. “I had a dream last night, Stars of the sky appeared, and some kind of meteorite fell next to me…”

A highlight from the album, Taygete is prepared piano, processed hammered dulcimer and a couple of obscure stringed instruments most people have never seen before, blending into a masterpiece of ambience and intensity. Taygete would be the perfect soundtrack for your first trip to the moon, or to provide respite from all of the mindless morons during your daily commute.

The ending track Orion highlights the range of music and the incredible sound design, texture, and songwriting that Lessons From The Dreamtime has become known for. Orion was originally composed for a short animated film which can be seen by subscribing to Lessons From The Dreamtime’s email list found on their website.

From start to finish every track will keep you engaged launching you into a world that could have only been created by Lessons From The Dreamtime.

Sedate

In his second album Sedate, Runar Blesvik continues to merge organic modern classical music with electronic and ambient soundscapes. With more emphasis on analog synthesizers than ever, you will experience a dynamic division between intimate, warm piano pieces and cosmic, dense tracks. This time he achieved something amazing: an album sparkles joy and beauty.

The album explores mature musical ideas and themes, where the music seeks out to enthuse and surprise the listener. It’s also an exploration of human vs. electronic elements and the feelings they provoke, juxtaposing the artificial with the natural, and blurring the line on the way.

Chris Heron

Sanctuary

Chris Heron is a modern classical / instrumental composer from Menifee, California who specializes in piano and orchestral music. What makes his music different is that it focuses heavily on the emotional aspect of a song. A song should provoke feelings, whether that be sadness, happiness, fear or joy.

Beginning at a very young age, his compositions continued to grow and mature as he did. He didn’t enjoy it that much while he was learning to play piano in his early years. “The strict nature of following rules and playing music I didn’t enjoy hindered my love for music.” says Chris. However, years after these lessons were over, his love for music returned through expressing his emotions and feelings through the ivory keys of a piano.

He would sit at the piano and simply improvise. To this day, it is still his favorite past time and a therapeutic system of relaxation for him. With each improvisation, came new melodies, and with those new melodies, came songs. As the amount of songs in his repertoire grew, he had the desire to show and perform these tracks for the public, and continues to reach out to the world through his music.

This is a beautiful instrumental album. Very true to its name, “Sanctuary” provides moments of relaxation, reflection, and a get away from the hustle and bustle of everyday life. As each instrument and note join the chorus of instruments, the songs aim to paint a picture within your mind, allowing you to imagine yourself in a whole new setting.

Since his music focuses on conveying an emotion, each piece is heartfelt. With its ups and downs, twists and turns, Chris’ music does its best to pull on your heartstrings and lead you to a small window into the way he feels. His dream is to be able to continue to express these emotions and feelings, and communicate the best way to the world that he can, through his music. Currently, on top of composing for albums, he also works on soundtracks for both video games and films.

Mardit B. Lleshi

Listening Among The Scenes “A Score Collection”

Born in Tirana, capital city of Albania, Mardit B. Lleshi is a gifted musician who has been composing modern classical / neo-classical music for several movies and his solo projects. The collection score in this album are taken from various movie projects he has composing music for. The musician has been collaborating with various award winning directors over the years.

In 2003 – 2007 he graduated from The Academy of Arts in Tirana, specialized in cello. Mardit B. Lleshi has been teaching cello lessons in a music school in Tirana since 2009.

Inspired by the music of composers such as James Horner, Hans Zimmer, Thomas Newman he began focusing in music for films and documentaries in 2009. He composed themes for several movies and documentaries in Albania such as ‘Antena’ (2009), ‘Jinx in a Jiffy’ (2010), ’Revansh’ (2011), ‘Not a Carwash’ (2012), ‘Daybreak’ (2016) directed by Gentian RexhepKoci, ‘Farwell’ directed by Ermela Teli, ‘Last Cigarette (2010), Father (2011) directed by GledisBica, ‘Me Ne Fund Ne Shtepi’ (2014), (74 km) documentary (2015) directed by Kreshnik Saraci, ‘Atila’ directed by Benard Laze and ‘Road’ (2019) directed by Irdi Islami.

In 2017, he co-composed with the artist Bledi Boraku, for the dance theater performance in Mediterranea 18 - Young Artists Biennale, called ‘Flowers of Winter’, directed by Robert Nuha and performed by Rosella Pellicciotti and Robert Nuha. At the same year, he was the compositor and live performer of the ‘39 Steps’ play, a parody adapted from the 1915 novel by John Buchan and the 1935 film by Alfred Hitchcock, and directed in Metropoly Theater by Qendrim Rijani. He presented his compositions on cello in Experimental Theater SP in Tirana which was appreciated by the audience and it stated by a critic that “It was the first time in Albania to have such a special performance.”

Listening Among The Scenes is “A Score Collection”. It contains music from various movies Mardit B. Lleshi composed over the years. It also contains two single tracks. It is our time to introduce this gifted artist to our label fan base.

Music shows us paths to find the truth of our inner world. Nothing like music can reveal deepness of our heart and our feelings. Mardit B.Lleshi’s compositions aim to form the soul and visual images through notes. As the English writer Aldous Huxley once said, what comes after silence, which is nearest to expressing the inexpressible, is music.
